Installing Webmin​

Webmin is excellent for sysadmins who want a GUI for underlying system configuration.

  1. Add Webmin repository:
wget -qO - http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc | sudo apt-key add -
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webmin.list'
  1. Install Webmin:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install webmin -y
  1. Access Webmin: Navigate to https://YOUR_SERVER_IP:10000 in your web browser.

Best Practices​

  • SSL/TLS: Always secure your panel login with a valid SSL certificate.
  • Firewall Rules: Restrict access to the panel's port (e.g., 10000) to only your specific IP address if possible.
  • Strong Passwords: Enforce strong passwords and 2FA for all administrative accounts.
